    Join us for the Standardisation for Year 6 Teachers – Writing 2023-24 mop up session – 23 April 2024

    This session is primarily to support Year 6 teachers in securing their statutory teacher assessments at the end of Key Stage 2 in writing. Teachers will have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues from other schools and LA moderators.

    The feedback for teachers from these sessions is intended to:

    • Help them to check that there is evidence to support achievement against the ‘Pupil can...’ statements in the Teacher Assessment Framework.
    • Develop their knowledge of the tests and how to prepare children for them.
    • Help them to identify which children are on track to achieve the expected standard, which are not and implications for the curriculum.

    Termly network meetings for headteachers and leaders with responsibility for supporting assessment, recording, and reporting in the school at both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

    The network meetings will focus on:

    • Updates from the DfE regarding statutory assessment. 
    • Evaluating approaches to assessment, sharing practice, and developing individual school responses to national expectations. 
    • The sharing of brief EYFS updates as appropriate.

    A comprehensive coverage of issues and information relating to end of Key Stage 2 assessment, including a detailed review of the statutory tests. A one-day course for teachers undertaking end of Key Stage 2 statutory assessment for the first time OR those who have not been in Year 6 since 2015.

    The course will include:

    • Formal contributions from course presenter.
    • Workshop groups to trial and discuss assessment activities and review issues.
    • An opportunity to look at exemplification materials.
